February 14th is a date to highlight in your calendar, as it is every year. And why not offer Argentine tango classes for the occasion? A wonderful activity to enjoy together, discover a dance accessible to all ages, and treat yourselves to a relaxing moment that opens the door to a poetic and culturally rich world. Classes take place every Monday at the Reformed Church of Monaco and are led by Daniella and Patrick, dancers and teachers with over thirty years of experience.
When faced with the unknown (illness, death, the future) rituals help us organize chaos, “know what to do” push away fear, and confront life’s challenges. How do we move from the profane to the sacred? What meaning is given to everyday gestures? What role do shamans, healers, and priestesses play? What objects support these exchanges between humans and gods: fetishes, masks, cult statues?
The answers can be found in the new exhibition “Magies, from Elsewhere” at the Museum of Prehistoric Anthropology of Monaco!
Literature lovers will also enjoy meeting David Foenkinos during an exceptional book-signing session at La Bookinerie. The the perfect opportunity to exchange with the author and leave with a signed copy, for yourself or as a gift.
The Department of Cultural Affairs is also organizing the second edition of its photography competition for ages 11–25, on the theme “Endangered Heritage”. Selected photographs will be exhibited on the railings of the Saint-Martin Gardens from April to October 2026. Get your cameras ready!
On stage, the Théâtre des Variétés presents “Comme s’il en pleuvait”, in support of Écoute Cancer Réconfort. A comedy by Sébastien Thiéry in which a couple’s life is turned upside down when an unexpected sum of money literally falls from the sky, humorously and absurdly revealing human reactions to money.
Meanwhile, the Théâtre des Muses invites you to four performances as well as an improvisation workshop for young audiences. The program includes The Little Prince, La raison du plus fou, Lennon and McCartney, and Les sœurs teignes à l’Académie des fées. During the holidays, children dive into the world of Carnival through fun and creative improvisation games.
Wishing you all a wonderful month of February.
