From September 25 to November 25, 2026, coinciding with the Monaco Yacht Show, the Hartford Fine Art – Lampronti Gallery Monaco will present Lumières sur la Lagune, an exceptional exhibition dedicated to Venetian view painting. Conceived by renowned antiquarian and gallerist Cesare Lampronti, the show brings together around thirty masterpieces by ten of the most important vedutisti active between the late 17th and 18th centuries.
Featuring celebrated artists such as Canaletto, Bernardo Bellotto, Michele Marieschi, and others, the exhibition offers a rare opportunity to explore the evolution of one of Europe’s most fascinating genres. Visitors are invited to immerse themselves in Venice at the height of its artistic and cultural splendor, through a sequence of views where architecture, water, light, and sky interact to create a vivid portrait of the city.
Each painting reflects a unique vision, distinguished by perspective, light, and atmosphere, allowing audiences to compare different interpretations of Venice and understand why it became one of the most iconic subjects in Western art. The gathering of works of such quality and provenance is an event of major historical and artistic significance, underscoring Monaco’s role as a privileged meeting place for high culture, the art market, and great collectors.
