Behind the Scenes of Culture in Monaco
How does a Principality shape its cultural programme? How do the projects that bring its stages, museums and iconic venues to life come together? And what vision guides the decisions that allow Monaco’s cultural landscape to resonate far beyond its borders?
The Monaco Women Network invites you to a special evening with Françoise Gamerdinger, Director of Monaco’s Department of Cultural Affairs, on Monday, 9 November 2026, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., in the prestigious setting of the Théâtre Princesse Grace.

During the talk, Françoise Gamerdinger will take us behind the scenes of a world rarely seen by the public: the conception, coordination and implementation of Monaco’s cultural policy.
Supporting artists and creative projects, programming performances and exhibitions, promoting Monaco’s cultural heritage, opening culture to younger audiences, working alongside the Principality’s leading institutions and developing international cooperation… This event will offer a closer look at the wide-ranging responsibilities of the Department of Cultural Affairs and the many considerations that shape Monaco’s artistic and cultural life.
Behind every event experienced by the public lie months of reflection, collaboration and organization. Françoise Gamerdinger will share this insider perspective with us, discussing the objectives that guide her work and the role culture plays in Monaco’s identity, attractiveness and international influence.
The talk will be followed by a guided tour of the Théâtre Princesse Grace, a rare opportunity to discover this emblematic Monaco venue from a different perspective.
The evening will conclude with the Monaco Women Network’s traditional networking cocktail, bringing together professionals from a wide range of sectors for conversation and new connections.
A unique evening for anyone curious to discover how culture is shaped in Monaco, from vision to execution, and from the first idea to the stage.
