His areas of research include the digital economy, financial economics, history and the history of monetary thought, and the economics of tourism.
At the Université Côte d’Azur, he headed the Department of Economics, a Master’s programme in Economics and International Finance, and a research team, and co-directed a doctoral school.
He has held elected positions at the CNRS, acted as an expert consultant for the National Research Agency, been invited by several universities and central banks, written numerous academic articles and books, supervised around twenty doctoral theses, and taught on a wide range of programmes and courses.
