Concert - "Ristretto"
Concert by Ristretto: "Motets and Hymns of the Anglican Liturgy" including works by Taverner, Byrd, Gibbons, Purcell, Wesley, Bairstow, Stanford, and Howells. The Anglican choral tradition, as practised in cathedrals and churches across the UK, offers a repertoire rich in magnificent hymns. This concert will be a rare opportunity to hear some examples of these fine works, performed by one of the first chamber choirs in our region, under the inspired and experienced direction of Errol Girdlestone.
