Saint Martin's Church was one of the first religious buildings erected on the Rock. It was located in the gardens that still bear its name, between the Cathedral and the Oceanographic Museum.

A bull of Pope Innocent IV, dated 1247, mentions it, but its creation goes back to previous ages. In June 1966, a project for a modern parish center was launched. It was decided that Saint Martin's church would be built on avenue Crovetto-Frères. In early 1976, work began on the new building, which was consecrated by Monseigneur Edmond Abelé and inaugurated by H.S.H. Prince Rainier III in November of the same year.
