Together we will explore the research of Florian Ferrua and his 'Concrete Beach' project, looking at the concrete piers found along our coastline. A day to share reflections and compare notes, through a series of workshops and speeches covering a variety of research fields. Free collaborative workshop. Advanced booking required.
The finissage will include a few words of explanation about the exhibition, followed by cocktails for visitors who were unable to come and see the exhibition previously. The focus will be on the artists present and the private collection on display - 'the office'.
The collective exhibition CONCRETE BEACHES, ARTIFICIAL LANDSCAPES is based on a hypothetical scenario. Abstract, metaphysical, uncertain. Visitors should approach it like a fictional tale, one to which everyone can bring their own vision of a shared future. Every piece and object serve to animate those imagined futures, some of which may already have come to pass. Inspired by the flamboyant dreams from the first collection of short stories by J.G. Ballard, Vermilion Sands (1973), the exhibition uses hybrid storytelling to stimulate the imagination.
