In 1993, the Comité National des Traditions Monégasques decided to re-establish Monegasque language classes for adults. These included Jo DI PASQUA (musician, songwriter) and a number of former master students. The revival of our language, as requested by H.S.H. Prince Rainier III, led to contemporary lyricists and composers writing new songs (notably poems by Paulette CHERICI-PORELLO, Alex BOVINI, Georges FRANZI, Ange FASCIOLO and Louis PRINCIPALE were set to music by Jo DI PASQUA), not forgetting the existing musical heritage of Louis NOTARI, Marc CURTI, Henri CROVETTO and José BERGONZI. In 1995, it was decided to create a group of singers, and so "U Cantin d'a Roca" (La Chanterelle du Rocher) was born.

For this new edition of the Monegasque Heritage Day, we'd like to evoke the skills and traditions that stem from interaction with the living world, highlighting the richness of the interactions that man cultivates with his environment, mentioning the (co)relationships and exchanges between human communities and other living beings (animals, plants, bacteria...) and thus integrating the idea of the living in the proper sense into this definition of living heritage, which still seems too reduced to human beings alone.
